Cedar Betting and Sports – a stylish racing experience!
IF you thought that the newly established Cedar Betting and Sports was a Mickey Mouse operation, think again!
We were pleasantly surprised by the ambience and atmosphere of this new betting lounge, situated at the Kyalami Downs Shopping Centre, north of Johannesburg.
The bookmakers’ licence for Cedar was granted to Corissa Ghillino, who appointed racing journeyman Derek Aub as her manager, and went to great lengths to make this facility arguably one of the best of its kind in the land.
While Derek and his team looks after the betting clients, Corissa and her father, Frank Kalify, have ensured that visitors to Cedar can enjoy a racing experience second to none.
Several tables with TV monitors are backed up with a well-stocked pub and a kitchen, where delightful meals are prepared. The kitchen passed our acid test – we asked for a medium rare pepper steak and that is exactly what we got, while Derek poured a few fine shots of Jack Daniels to compliment the meal.
Cedar Betting and Sports caters for small, medium and big betting clients, and our man Derek is easy on the stretch.
Cedar Betting and Sports is conveniently situated close to the old Kyalami racetrack and with their style and on-the-ball management should go from strength to strength. You’ll bump into a few of racing’s big names here, and you won’t regret the visit.
