THE PA King strikes again!
R21 440 for only R288! Pretorius tips huge PA!
(STOP PRESS: SUNDAY 25 SEPT, VAAL, CARRYOVER P6 TIPPED FOR R300!)
``Charl Pretorius on Saturday tipped a five grand PA at Kenilworth and a R5 PA at Clairwood on the same day, both showing profits. If this isn’t good tipping, I don’t know what is!’’ – Online subscriber, Durban.
HE may not be able to tip a waiter, but Charl Pretorius remains South Africa’s PA King! Pretorius tipped yesterday’s R5 360 PA at Kenilworth on Saturday, 24 September, four times to online subscribers for a R288 perm, yielding a return of R21 440!
(And Sunday's R5 808 Vaal Pick 6 for R300 to online, online sms and phone sms subscribers, with recommended bankers War Regalia and Jazzy)
On a day where tipsters from the mainstream publications averaged five out of seven legs, mikedekockracing.com’s online subscribers took the loot big time!
In fact, judged by congratulatory mails from subscribers, they may have scooped as much as 50% of the entire national PA pool between them!
``I won over R200 000 taking the R288 perm multiple times,’’ wrote ``H’’ from Durban, who does not want his name revealed but is willing to send us a copy of his winning ticket.
``I made a profit of R23 900 for R330,’’ enthused Gerhard Leukes from Cape Town. (gleukes@nmg.co.za)
``As I said your tips are f****** good, big guy, well done for Cape Town!’’ smsed John F. from Johannesburg.
The online subscriber service enjoyed an excellent September, tipping 17 winning PA’s so far and Charl Pretorius said: ``Four of these PA’s actually made a loss, and 9 others showed small profits only, but the big one now and then helps a lot and keeps the subscribers happy!
``It is impossible to win every time, we had a frustrating losing streak during August, but things always pick up because we stick to the same principles. Sometimes there are truly unbelievable results which no tipster could ever predict, but our subscribers have remained staunch, sending their suggestions and advice.
``Most of them use our perm as a base from which to work out their own bets, adding horses to legs of the PA where they feel we have gone ‘’thin’’. They look at every suggested perm from a fresh, personal angle they have often won when our suggested perm is one leg out!
Here is an extract from yesterday’s online tipping sheet, with winning Kenilworth PA at the bottom:
Race 4: Let’s stick with the smart crop of three-year-olds and feature placed DUNEDIN STAR, returning from a rest but from a yard that steps them out fit enough to win. FRISK ME far better than last run, and MIGHTY ATOM should also be right there. AFRICAN APPEAL best of the older runners. Selections: 8/6/7/1.
Race 5: At the weights there is a lot to like about CASEY’S DIVA, who should hold badly drawn ELLIE’S WISH and CHERRY WOOD, but good improvement is expected from CITY OF GOLD, who has been right up there against slightly stronger in KZN and is well drawn, needed last. LEADING ROLE and IBERIA also come into the reckoning. Selections: 8/9/4/11/3/1.
Race 6: We may be barking up the wrong tree, but in highly competitive field like this we probably won’t be far off siding with lightly raced CYCLONIC, smart, ever-improving and impressive in KZN, and handily weighted for this trip. Stablemate IVY GREEN has been running below par, but he’s also an above average sort and should start bouncing back to best about now. In Dean we trust, but you may have to include the proven staying form, as represented by KIPKETER and the Bass coupling, JEWELCASE and STRIKE UP THE BAND, and still it doesn’t end there! Selections: 8/4/3/9.
Race 7: I am very tempted at first glance to go head down on SOMETHING ELSE, as he impressed me on Gold Cup day and is a very smart horse, but the weights could play a role and promising three-year-olds CAPTAIN IN COMMAND, RADAR and even GRAND DUKE will make him run. You could perhaps take a chance and banker the Ramsden coupling in the Pick 6, but an interesting race nonetheless. Selections: 2/7/11/9.
Race 8: Most racing experts believe it is wise to stick to the rule, ``Star sprinters return fresh and should win, most of the time’’, and I will apply it here with TOBE OR NOT TOBE, who will kick butt if he’s ready. Stablemate LAREDO GOLD was quite impressive when they let him go in KZN, and if anywhere near his best after a short break could be the PA backup. Fast LOYALIST and GO TO WAR (better this trip) are also in with chances. Selections: 3/1/4/5.
Race 9: AFRICAN PICASSO continues to impress with his power and acceleration and off a handy weight he should go in again, as he is undoubtedly better than rated. But those of you who watch Tellytrack often would have heard the regular whispers about COUNT SAUMAREZ being a top young horse; watch for a good run here! Selections: 7/9/3/4.
BIG PA FOR TODAY:
2/5 x 8/6 x 8/9/4/11 x 8/4/3 x 2/7 x 3/1 x 7/9.

EXTRACT FROM SUNDAY 25 SEPTEMBER, VAAL ONLINE TIPPING SERVICE:
Race 6: FORECAST is lightning fast, but may be caught in the dying strides by any of the Maroun runners, COOL PROSPECT or even our FOUR NINES, who is fit after a rest. We have a ‘’value’’ preference for COME THUNDER, who won in her only try this track and trip, and hasn’t carried this little weight in ages. Hard to say who the best of Buddy’s runners is, but perhaps Marcus is on the right one. (Four Nines is fit and well after his rest, include him in the exotics. - \ Quinton Watt for Mike de Kock) Selections: 3/1/5/4.
Race 7: Competitive feature race, but NATIONAL SPIRIT’s pace and undeniable class could carry him through. He faces among others HILTI (big weight, perhaps better over a mile athough 4kg better off with erratic TIGRAY; and DRIFT ICE, looks top class but perhaps also better a shade further. Selections: (Hilti is fighting fit and well, he has a wide draw and a big weight, but I am expecting his usual game run. - Quinton Watt) 2/1/8/3/6.
Race 8: Runaway wins can be deceptive, but WAR REGALIA was really impressive with his debut win on sand over April Boy (a fluent winner twice since) and could remain unbeaten although he switches to turf. There are four other nice three-year-olds in the race – CAPTAIN COURAGEOUS and FANYANA (rested) FIRE PRACTICE (ability but seems temperamental) and IN HER HONOUR (rested, good form to the likes of Jalabar), but on a tricky card we have to banker somewhere, maybe here. Selections: 9/10/8/7/6.
Race 9: In doing Tellytrack this morning, jock Andre Hoffmann, a spokesman for Geoff Woodruff, suggested JAZZY was the best of their first-timers here. Jazzy was backed on Saturday morning from 2-1 to 1-1, and in the absence of good exposed form I don’t think we’ll be far off if bankering Jazzy, she is by a top sire (already produced a Grade 1 winner in US), drawn on the inside (beneficial these days) and with Khan up, this one has the looks of a debut winner. Let’s take a chance. Selections: 15/13/7/1.
SUGGESTED VALUE PICK 6:
8/1/3/4/2 x 3,4,1,6 x 3/5/4/6/7 x 2/1/8 x 9 x 15.

(NOTE: We do not tip for race meetings at Kimberley. We would like to see whether the consistency of results will improve on the supposedly improved sand track at Kimberley, racing starts there on 26 September. We would also like to see a tightening up by the authorities on inconsistent running and huge form reversals within short periods of time before we will consider making selections. Please put pressure on the stipendiary board to take significant action and suspend horses who are inconsistent). |
